Emily is a lover of movement. Emily grew up as a dancer, and fell in love with yoga as a natural transition from the dance studio to the yoga studio. Emily sought yoga for stretching and strengthening her body. What she didn’t realize was the positive mental benefits yoga provides. Yoga provides a space for physical and mental introspection. Emily has pursued many other movement adventures including biking across America, hiking 4-weeks along the Israel National trail, scuba diving in Thailand and Indonesia and running the Baltimore and Marine Corps marathons.

Emily is a student of the mind-body connection. Emily seeks to understand the relationship between our thoughts and how they manifest physically in our bodies. Emily deepened her knowledge of yoga through her 200 HR YTT at Down Under Yoga studio in Boston, MA in 2018. Emily has a rich spiritual practice cultivated from her yogic and Ayurvedic studies in which she strives to incorporate on and off her mat.

Emily is completing her doctorate in occupational therapy at Tufts University, and has a rich knowledge in anatomy, therapeutic yoga and adaptive yoga poses for students of diverse abilities in the classroom. Emily strives to teach alignment-based yoga flows with many options for her students’ abilities.
