From a young girl I was always captivated by the different world religions and viewpoints. When I met my husband in 1995, I was introduced to the world of Yoga by his father Mani Finger and brother Alan. Mani was an initiated yoga Guru. Swamis would travel from India to visit and stay in his Ashram in Johannesburg, South Africa. Together with Alan they birthed the practice of ISHTA yoga, Integrated Science of Hatha Tantra and Ayurveda. Alan brought the practice of ISHTA to America. Today there are ISHTA studios throughout the world.
In 2002, I did a ISHTA yoga training course with Alan in America and opened Something Yoga, an ISHTA yoga studio in Boca Raton, Florida. My studio had the honor of hosting several yoga masters such as Rod Stryker, Aadil Pakival, Angela Farmer, Shiva Ray and many others.
In addition to yoga, I have a deeply rooted spiritual foundation which I use to offer my clients a variety of healing therapies such as Reiki, Healing Touch, Crystal healing and Intuitive healing. Crystals are a large part of my energy work. I was introduced to crystals by a 10th generation Cherokee Medicine woman ,Agasti Gadahi or simply Granny Jean to me. Granny Jean adopted and initiated me into the native American ways. I carried on Granny Jean's teachings by doing crystal card readings, crystal classes, and using crystals in deep guided meditations. The studio hosted workshops by well-known crystal healers such as Mika Nelson and Naisha Ashan. I was drawn to crystals because of my innate desire to help people find balance and serenity in their lives. Before I taught yoga I worked as a trauma counselor at a suicide hotline. In 2002 I did a Colin Tipping course on radical forgiveness. I use these skills to assist people in finding both energetic and psychological alignment in their lives.
I have been a yogi for over 40 years. My classes are intuitive and taught from the heart. I believe that when we have a relationship with our yoga, Yoga then does us as opposed to us doing yoga.
